Across the James Bay Bridge

In Victoria, British Columbia, in 1896, ten-year-old Emily travels to the city's Chinatown to help her family's servant, Hing, after he has been wrongly accused of breaking an expensive vase, and, once there, learns about the lives and culture of Chinese immigrants.
