Friday's child

Lord Sheringham, rejected by the incomparable Miss Milbourne, vows to marry the next woman he sees in order to gain control of his inheritance, and happens upon Hero Wantage, a penniless, childhood playmate who has always loved him, and while she is delighted to be his wife, Hero's lack of sophistication gets her into one scrape after another until a near scandal makes Sheringham realize he loves her too.
