Remember when

Romance novelist Nora Roberts, writing as herself and as J.D. Robb, author of futuristic romantic suspense stories, presents two connected tales, the first in which a diamond heist brings together Laine Tavish, the thief's daughter, and insurance investigator Max Gannon, and the second in which their granddaughter, having written a book about the theft in 2059, becomes the target of someone who believes she has the still missing gems.
