Tender as hellfire

Eleven-year-old Dough and his thirteen-year-old brother Pill have just moved to a town called Tenderloin, where they live in a trailer park with their mother, her new boyfriend, and a three-legged pit bull the brothers rescued from a dogfight. Dough and Pill must navigate their new surroundings together, from their father's unexpected death to troubles at school and their own unstable lives at home.
