The thing we call a heart

After high school ends, Shabnam Qureshi feels like her summer will be boring and lonely, especially when her best friend, Farah, starts wearing the Muslim head scarf--something Shabnam has been refusing to do. Then Shabnam meets Jamie, who helps her get a job at his aunt's pie shack. As Shabnam gets to know Jamie she starts to fall in love with him, but when Farah finds out she is interested in a non-Muslim, the strain on their friendship may be too much.
