The unknown universe

Presents a history of cosmology from the work of seventeenth-century giants Kepler, Newton, and Halley up through Einstein and into the twenty-first century, where technology and theories reveal how much we do not yet know. Also relates all that has been taken as scientific fact until recently, like the existence of dark matter and energy, and discusses how modern technology like the Planck satellite is forcing cosmologists to rethink what we know about the universe and to develop new theories and experiments.
