Looker

An unnamed narrator feels her life unraveling--she is childless, her husband left her, and her job is at a dead-end. She becomes obsessed with her neighbor, a celebrity actress with a husband, three kids, and fame. The narrator's chance interaction with the actress at the annual block party creates disaster, and her innocent preoccupation spirals into lethality and madness.
