The Sparsholt affair

In 1940, David Sparsholt--a handsome, charismatic, and athletic young man--arrives at Oxford University to get a degree in engineering. Unaware of how his presence affects others, especially Evert Dax, a lonely son of a famous novelist who will become a novelist himself, David and Evert become friends, and that friendship will influence both their lives and the lives of others for generations.
