The fireman

The epidemic sweeping the country is nicknamed Dragonscale for the marks it tattoos across its victims before they burst into flames, and it's quickly tearing civilization apart. Nurse Harper Grayson contracts the disease and then learns she's pregnant. Instead of committing suicide, she decides to live long enough to deliver her healthy baby. Her husband Jakob goes crazy and Harper's only hope is a mysterious figure called The Fireman who has the disease but has learned to control it.
