Seventh son

Collects the first two stories of "The Tales of Alvin Maker," in which a young boy named Alvin, the seventh son of a seventh son, lives in an alternate American frontier. Life is hard, but there folk magic is real, and Alvin is about to discover he has the gift of power, a power which only a young girl with second sight can help him learn to use against the dark forces arrayed against him.
