English teacher Jake Epping learns that the local diner contains a time portal to a specific day in 1958. The diner's owner enlists Jake for a special mission to prevent John F. Kennedy's assassination. Jake travels back in time and begins to make changes to history, even falling in love, before he realizes the consequences of his actions.
