Belle Prater's Boy

Around 5:00 a.m. on a warm Sunday morning in October, 1953, Gypsy's Aunt Belle left her bed and vanished from the face of the earth. This is 12-year-old Gypsy's story as she struggles to understand this mystery and why her cousin Woodrow, Belle's son, has so calmly accepted his mother's disappearance. When Woodrow finally reveals that he's been keeping a secret about Belle, Gypsy begins to realize that there are different ways of finding the strength to face the oftentimes painful truth.
