The Rand Scientific Expedition entered the lush forest around the Amazon and vanished. Years later, one of its members, a former soldier, emerges scarred, mutilated, and terrified. The expedition was headed by Nathan Rand's father and now Nathan is determined to follow the trail of his missing father and uncover what happened to the expedition.

When the lone survivor of a scientific expedition into the Amazon stumbles out of the jungle to die mysteriously in a small village--a man who had only one arm when he went in but two when he came out--the government asks Nathan Rand, the son of the expedition's leader, to try and retrace his father's footsteps and discover what happened.
