When the lone survivor of a scientific expedition into the Amazon stumbles out of the jungle to die mysteriously in a small village--a man who had only one arm when he went in but two when he came out--the government asks Nathan Rand, the son of the expedition's leader, to try and retrace his father's footsteps and discover what happened.
