Omaha Beach on D-Day

On June 6, 1944, the photographer Robert Capa captured an iconic image of an American GI submerged in the Normandy surf. The remarkable shot was taken at harrowing personal risk. Capa's photograph came to represent the final stages of World War II to the world. Already a notable war photographer, Capa was one of the few photojournalists who disembarked on the beach that day. His famous shot, along with a few others from that roll of film, are the only images that survive from Omaha Beach on D-Day.

"The murders in the Rue Morgue" and other tales

Auguste Dupin, who is considered fiction's first detective. The Monkey God

The Bodhisattva Guanyin (a Buddhist who has reached Enlightenment) is on a pilgrimage from China to India to retrieve an ancient Buddhist text, and has enlisted Sun Wukong to protect him on his journey in exchange for his freedom. Guanyin's safety on the journey will be under constant threat from bandits, demons, and other supernatural beings.
