Rinne is looking forward to going to Sakura's house to investigate a ghost, but the arrival of Jumonji and Ageha complicates things.

While Rinne's father's, Sabato, is away, Kain, a shinigami clerk shows up to collect a debt owed by Sabato by taking something precious from Rinne.

Ageha, who hates the Damashigami Company, gets Rinne to help her search for her missing sister, to the chagrin of Sakura, but even though Ageha has a crush on Rinne, his mind is focused on Sakura.

Sakura Mamiya, a girl who can see ghosts, meets Rinne Rokudo, a boy who is far more than what he seems, and when Rinne catches a cold and gets a visit form a strange doctor, Rinne, Sakura, and Tsubasa are confronted with Sabato, Rinne's deadbeat father and president of the evil Damashigami Company.

Rinne is faced with doing an exorcism at an amusement park when Sakura is on a date and the ghost of another lovelorn boy decides to make it a triple date.

Sakura and Rinne help the ghosts of an ancient warrior and a girl who drowned, and are sent on a chase by a wandering spirit.
