Air pirate Andan Cly, having decided to straight, is about to embark on his first legitimate mission when he is summoned to New Orleans by his former lover Josephine Early, a brothel owner and Union spy, who presents him with an intriguing proposal to retrieve a prototype submarine from the depths of Lake Pontchartrain.
