Joe Pickett's daughter, Sheridan, starts to receive text messages from April, who Joe is sure perished in a massacre six years earlier, and as the family tries to determine whether the communciations are a hoax, they cross paths with a dying Chicago mobster who is crossing the country in order to reconcile with his son.
