Seventeen-year-old Kate returns to the estate where she lived as a child to tutor seven-year-old Patrick Westbrook. When Patrick appears to be in contact with Ashley, Kate's childhood friend who drowned in an icy pond, Kate is determined not to abandon him to the evil that threatens to destroy them.
