When young smuggler Ray Jakes is sent to prison, he meets an Elvis Presley impersonator and the two become friends. After the two perform Christmas concerts at the wardens request, Jakes discovers Elvis made a deal with the warden to be paroled when they finished and Jakes fails at an attempted escape. But having evidence of police brutality of a criminal cop, Jakes is paroled and seeks a new life.
