The royal waker-upper

Young Mele is appointed by the King to awaken him each day with a beautiful song. When Mele finds a mynah bird with a broken wing, he cares for him and puts him safely under a basket where he can heal. One day when an important visitor arrives at the palace, Mele discovers that he has no voice with which to awaken the King but his pet mynah bird saves the day by imitating Mele's beautiful song.
