Colonel Chabert

Colonel Chabert, a decorated hero in the Napoleonic War, returns home after a long convalescence from a disfiguring wound to find he has been declared dead, his wife remarried and his pension gone, and hires a popular young lawyer in an attempt to regain his life and wealth.
