Owlflight

Darian, a thirteen-year-old orphan with an untrained talent for magic, flees to the Pelagiris Forest when his village is attacked by barbarians, and encounters the Hawkbrothers, a magical elflike race, who are trying to reestablish the network through which magic used to flow before it was disrupted by the mage-storms.
