While we're far apart

The lives of three people, including Esther, whose father enlists in the army after the death of her mother; Penny, who tries to win over Eddie Shaffer, who she has long been in love with; and Mr. Mendel, an elderly landlord waiting to hear about the fate of his son, who has been trapped in war-torn Hungary; intersect during World War II as they consider their understanding of God's love in light of life's challenges.
