Chi, a michievous newborn kitten, becomes separated from her family in the park. Scared and lonely, she breaks down in tears and is found by a boy named Yohei and his mother, who take her home with them. The problem is the Yamada family is not allowed to have pets--and Chi has a way of finding trouble.

Follows the further misadventures of the kitten Chi.

After being rescued by Yohei and his mother, little Chi the lost newborn kitten is whisked away into the warm and inviting Yamada family apartment where pets are not permitted.

After a sneaky escape from home, Chi makes her way back to the company of her friends, Cocchi and Blackie, but this time she departs with a better understanding of what it means to be a "cat.".

Follows the adventures of Chi, a mischievous kitten who is adopted by Yohei and his family, the Yamadas, even though their lease explicitly states pets are not allowed in their building.
