It's winter now and everyone in the next world is gathering mushrooms for the stew pot. It's hard for Rinne to stay focused on exorcising ghosts. But when Tamako's Black Cat by Contract, Kuroboshi, and his grandson, Kuroboshi the Third, arrive, Rinne is forced back to work on his winter vacation.

Spirits are particularly restless in the summer season, and when Rinne and the gang learn of a spirit particularly fascinated with braids terrorizing a beach, he and his friends head to the beach house to confront it. Sakura's braids make her a target, however.

Rinne and Rokumon see an advert about a kitten lost in the Afterlife, and soon after Kain's black cat disappears, too. Rokumon chases after the missing felines, then she herself disappears, leaving Rinne with the job of solving the mystery himself.

Masato accidentally earns the good graces of an angel and is granted wings and an overpowering need to do good no matter how hard the demon tries to be bad. Rinne then tries to turn Masato back into his normal self.

Rinne and Sakura's teacher begins receiving strange messages from the Peeking Ball, then a ghost scythe becomes attached to Sakura and she must exorcise seven souls to get rid of it.

As the New Year approaches, Rinne thinks a haunted shopping mall is the answer to his financial problems. Then Rinne is given a weekend at a luxury hot springs inn, but unfortunately the other guests there are up to no good.

First the peeking ball causes trouble at school, then the school's vending machine begins taking everyone's money. Rinne is blamed so he vows to uncover the truth about the machine. Meanwhile, the Christmas holiday draws near.

Rinne, Sakura, and their friends keep busy with the spirits over the summer. Then school resumes and a mysterious new teacher wants to use Rinne's otherworldly knowledge.

On a Shinigami high school field trip, Rinne and Sakura pretend to be dating and end up hating each other. Hopefully a homemade lunch together will repair their friendship.

Fifteen-year-old Alexander Cold accompanies his individualistic grandmother on an expedition to find the humanoid Beast in the Amazon, and experiences ancient wonders and a supernatural world as he tries to avert disaster for the Indians.
