Still on the run from the women who are hunting him, Yorick Brown--along with his monkey Ampersand, Agent 355, and Dr. Allison Mann--finds himself on the border of Paris, where Beth, his fianc?e, awaits his return.

Yorick Brown--the last man on Earth after the plague--has arrived at Doctor Mann's laboratory in San Francisco, with his companions, so that Mann can study why Yorick and Ampersand--a monkey--are the only male survivors, but stopping there also allows their pursuers to catch up.

Yorick Brown and his pet monkey Ampersand, the only males to survive an epidemic which killed every living thing with a Y chromosome, learns who is responsible for the deadly plague and tries to reunite with his true love.

Yorick Brown, who has finally reached the country where his fiancee Beth has been stranded since the male-killing plague struck three years ago, has a brief window of time to find Beth in the remains of Sydney with help from Agent 355 and biochemist Dr. Allison Mann.

Yorick Brown is the only human male to survive a deadly plague and as he makes his way across what remains of the country, three astronauts--including two men--arrive on Earth beginning a dangerous showdown over who will be in control.

Yorick and his pet monkey are the only males remaining on the planet after a plague of unknown origin destroyed every last sperm, fetus, and fullly developed mammal with a Y chromosome in the summer of 2002.
