Bridei chronicles

Bridei, a young nobleman, takes in an abandoned child against the wishes of Broichan; however, as the girl grows into a beautiful woman, Bridei begins to feel differently about her and Broichan is fearful that she could lead to Bridei's doom.

Faolan, sent on a mission by King Bridei to locate the cleric Colmcille, takes the opportunity to notify his fallen comrade Deord's family of the man's death, and his work for the king must be put on hold when he arrives to find Deord's indigent sixteen-year-old daughter and her infant, and decides to bring them to the safety of Bridei's court.
