A sister and brother, along with thousands of young people, have been kidnapped and either thrown in prison or turned up missing after accusations of witchcraft were made against them, and the ruling regime will do anything in order to suppress life and liberty, music and books.

Whit Allgood and his sister, Whisty, wake up to a world changed and find, to their dismay, that they are wanted criminals who are accused of having incredible powers.

Wisty and Whit Allgood, who only recently gained magical powers, suddenly find themselves parentless, running for their lives, and fighting the oppressive rule of the New Order, which has declared all magic evil. Now, the teen siblings infiltrate enemy territory to stop the N.O. from taking over the Shadowland, the interdimensional realm of ghosts.

After escaping imprisonment by the totalitarian regime known as the New Order, siblings Wisty and Whit Allgood, who possess magical powers, establish themselves as leaders of the Resistance, a hidden community of teenagers like themselves.
