Samuel Blink and the runaway troll

Despite his having been careful not to enter the Shadow Forest, as his Aunt Eda had warned, twelve-year-old Samuel Blink finds himself in a difficult situation when Troll-Son runs away from his Shadow Forest home with aims to live with Samuel, his human hero.
