Bitter, sweet

Pru Burbidge and her brother Jesse are forced to take desperate measures to keep their family together when their father takes off shortly after their move to an old farmhouse in a secluded Nova Scotia town, and their mother dies not long afterwards, leaving Pru and Jesse to care for themselves and their younger siblings.
