Relic

Maggie Davis is left to take care of her sister after a fire consumes her town, a town where bones of long-extinct magical creatures are mined and traded for their residual magical powers, but when Maggie proves that she has skill in harnessing these relics, she is whisked away to a relic barons hacienda, until the fires return and Maggie must find out who is using the magic for evil.
