The Reaction

Fifteen-year-old Rose Elmsworth is alone for the first time in her life. Her father is in prison, she has been rejected by the amoral law-enforcement agency which guided her in childhood, and she has a terrible secret she cannot share with anyone. As Rose grieves her losses, the world around her is changing and the laws which have maintained peace between magicals and non-magicals are breaking down. Two rival militias are gathering on the streets to prepare for a devastating war. What will Rose have to do to stay alive in such a world?.
