Thick as thieves

Kamet, a successful secretary and slave to his Mede master, has the ambition and the means to become one of the most powerful people in the Empire if his master does well. But when his master is murdered, he must flee for his own safety and is forced onto a very different path. Kamet suddenly finds himself fighting to survive a rugged terrain, slave catchers, and bounty hunters alongside an enemy soldier with whom he forms an unexpected and powerful friendship.
