I'm not missing

The canine narrator tells about the stress of pet life--being a good boy, wearing costumes, performing tricks for treats, and pooping in public--and how he escaped to become an independent "lone wolf." While he maintains that he's still having a good time, an encounter with his owner walking another dog unexpectedly hurts. He remembers all the good times he had with his human, and hopes that it's not too late to return home, explaining to the reader that relationships are about compromise.
