When Rachel was a young girl she tried to help her father, a local detective, find a serial killer in the mountains of California, but she did not crack the case and her actions destroyed her fathers career. Thirty years later Rachel is convinced that the killer is still out there and she constructs a new strategy to find him and vindicate her father.
