When the obituary of computer game designer Matthew Sobol is posted online, it activates a previously dormant autonomous computer program known as a "daemon." As the daemon unleashes its capabilities and begins to destroy the interconnected order of the modern technological world, a special task force is created to locate and destroy this faceless threat before it creates an entirely new world order.
