The snowman's children

A search for closure brings a man home seventeen years after a childhood incident that forced his family out of town: his misguided attempt at age eleven to keep a troubled girl from going insane, undertaken against the backdrop of 1970s Detroit racial tensions and the city's search for a child killer called the Snowman.
