Out stealing horses

Trond Sander, a Norwegian man nearing seventy in self-imposed exile, meets his only neighbor, who happens to be the younger brother of a friend with whom he spent a transformative summer, and remembers that season of 1948, when he learned secrets about his father's wartime activities.
