The given world

It is 1968, and thirteen-year-old Riley is feeling lost when her brother Mick goes missing in Vietnam. The boy from a nearby reservation she fell in love with is on his way to Vietnam, too, and she is carrying his child. Not knowing what else to do, Riley travels across the country and somehow gets overseas to Saigon, meeting a colorful cast of characters along the way, all scarred one way or another by the war.
